KeongMas Band to Perform at Comcast Asian American Chronicle

KeongMas Band is set for 30 minutes interview and performance in Asian American Chronicle program of Comcast local TV in Chicago, IL on May 6, 2011. The program will feature KeongMas Band as a part of Indonesian community here in Chicago. Chris Sutanto and Jeff Kuesar will be representing KeongMas Band and perform 2 songs: “Mimpi” by KeongMas and “Laskar Pelangi” by Nidji (Indonesian band).

Interview and performance video will be shared later on keongmas.net. Local viewing of the program will also be announced after the taping.

KeongMas Supports Illinois Cup 2011

KeongMas participated in the recent Illinois Cup on Feb 11, 2011. Coordinated by Indonesian Student Association (PERMIAS) at Chicago and Urbana-Champaign, this event offered sport tournaments for futsal, basketball and badminton to Indonesian communities in the Midwest. In the evening, an Indonesian Night gathering is held and was attended by 150 students from 9 different campus in Midwest as well as representatives of Indonesian Embassy from Washington D.C. and Indonesian General Consulate in Chicago.

KeongMas Band participated at the evening event performing 3 Indonesian love songs, as related to the theme of the night, which was Valentine. The group from Chicago consisted of Chris, Jeff and Jo delivered a unique acoustic performance of “Aku Jatuh Cinta” by Tompi, “Inikah Cinta” by ME, “Memilihmu” by Adhitia Sofyan, and a classic “Cinta” by Kahitna.

We promoted ourselves during performance as well as through brochures that contain general information about KeongMas and Waraskita. The event was also sponsored by KeongMas. Overall, this was the kind of event that KeongMas would like to participate in; an event that shows the togetherness as Indonesian, no matter where they are.

KeongMas to be Featured on Chicago Public Access TV

Keongmas was given an opportunity 2 weeks ago to be interviewed by Comcast Chicagoland public access TV-Asian American Chronicle. Jeff and I got the chance to share a little bit about Keongmas and our programs. The segment is schedule to air at the end of February. Eventhough this is just a local public access channel, it is a very good opportunity to introduce KeongMas to people in Chicago area, and in addition the studio is eager to feature more of our programs such as KeongMas Music and Mitra in the near future.

We will receive the final version of the DVD next month which can be edited to be a segment of KeongMas marketing on our website.

We manage to get some of the 2010s pictures of KeongMas band performance on several events in Chicago. Previously we never had a chance to add them up to the site and unless you are diligently prying through some of our member’s facebook site, they are buried and long gone forgotten
